Carl Olofson from IDC on integrated data platforms

At the InterSystems Benelux Summit 2017 BI-Platform had the opportunity to speak with Carl Olofson. Carl W. Olofson is Research Vice President, Data Management Software at IDC. He has performed research and analysis for IDC since 1997, and manages IDC's Database Management Software service, as well as supporting the Data Integration Software service.

On October 24th InterSystems held the Benelux Summit 2017 in Beveren near Antwerpen. On this day for channelpartners and clients InterSystems presented the new IRIS Data Platform. Carl Olofson presented a keynote on behalf of IDC about choosing a DBMS to address the challenges of the ‘third platform’.
BI-Platform asked mr. Olofson about the consequences of the digital transformation for enterprises and specific how this affects data management and Business Intelligence. He also speaks about the rise of integrated data platforms, like the new InterSystems IRIS product, that address the benefits of data governance.
