Demystifying the CMS Interoperability Rule
(28-08-2019)

Deel dit bericht

The CMS Interoperability and Patient Access Proposed Rule lays the foundation for healthcare interoperability. If finalized as proposed, the rule will require health plans participating in Medicare Advantage, Medicaid, MCOs and other government funded insurance programs to respond by sharing data via open APIs.  Embedded in the rule are proposals that will require changes to health plans’ IT infrastructure to support functionality which allows for broad based data sharing to provide members and providers with greater data transparency.

In this session the proposed rule will be presented in simple terms to help highlight some of the most important elements. The presenters will describe how an enterprise data platform approach can create the necessary foundation to prepare for implementation of the final rule.  Speakers from InterSystems, Leavitt Partners and Premera Blue Cross will discuss their perspective on how the path forward can be simplified for health plans.
