Professor Sandra Wachter on AI and Ethics

On July 2nd Dataiku held their EGG 2019 - The Human-Centered AI Conference in London. EGG puts the spotlight on real-world use cases and hot topics like machine learning interpretability, bias, and fairness from the humans at top companies who are making AI happen.

At this conference Sandra Wachter, Senior Research Fellow in Data Ethics & AI at the University of Oxford, presented a keynote ‘Algorithmic Bias, Privacy Protection and EU Non-Discrimination Law’, in which she explores how AI can lead to biased, unjust and unfair decision-making. But how can we increase accountable AI and make sure that these systems are not reinforcing stereotypes and injustice? BI Platform interviewed professor Wachter about these subjects. She gives examples and tells what can governments or the European Union can do, so companies will adjust their policies.
